New Businesses To Main Street

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

Pincher’s Crab Shack is moving to Main Street in Lakewood Ranch! Pincher’s Crab Shack currently has seven locations in Florida. They will keep the location on Clark Road in Sarasota and open an eighth location in the vacant space next to the movie theater. The restaurant should open in the spring of 2012. “We think Lakewood Ranch is a great area,” said Grant Phelan, Pincher’s owner. “Main Street in particular is such a perfect location for us and we are super excited.” Pincher’s is known for its fresh seafood – and especially crabs. The restaurant will feature an indoor/outdoor bar with a large open patio area. It will be approximately 6,500 square feet. In 2007, Pincher’s purchased the Island Crab Company on Pine Island to serve as a fresh seafood facility for its restaurants. By having its own local facility, Pincher’s can process and deliver fresh fish and shellfish to the table faster and fresher – whether it’s grouper, blue crab, stone crab or some of the wonderful fish that you'll see highlighted as specials of the day.
Station 400 breakfast and lunch restaurant is opening this month on Main Street. This will be the second location for the popular restaurant from downtown Sarasota.
America’s Best Martial Arts, formerly located at Lake Osprey Plaza, has moved to Main Street in Lakewood Ranch. “This is just the perfect location for our business,” said owner Rob Tucker. “The location is right, the traffic is right, the demographic is right—we couldn’t be happier.” Classes started last week and America’s Best Martial Arts is a family-oriented karate studio with classes for anyone age 3 and older. They offer family classes as well and focus on character development, goal setting and focus. Tucker, who has been taking classes himself for 40 years, has been teaching for about 25. America’s Best Martial Arts studio is located right next to MacAllisters restaurant and for a limited time, you can try it for two weeks for $19.95 and get a free uniform.
